A New Day is on the Horizon

Did you see the Golden Globes? Or at least Oprah’s acceptance speech that went viral?

We are in a moment. A deep, powerful moment and it’s up to all of us to harness it, to speak up, and to utilize this opportunity for creating change. Oprah said something really poignant that is actually so simple:

What I know for sure is speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have and I’m especially proud and inspired by all of the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories.”

There are so many reasons we are quiet, or why it’s hard to speak our truths.

As a truth teller, I can attest that it’s also hard to be the one willing to speak the hard truths because people often don’t want to hear them.

And part of what I’m thinking about is how we compartmentalize ourselves and put the parts that we don’t think we can share in a box away from the glittery and zingy parts we feel safe to show to the world.

I’m thinking about how we all have those parts and how sometimes they are our gold.

What is the part of yourself that is really important to you, and yet you keep it close to your chest and don’t share it with people very much?

That sacred, special part that is so important that you want to keep it safe and out of the way of public view and critique?

For me, for many years, it was that I was a ritualist. When I was growing up I was raised with two very different spiritual paths with each parent and because they fought over it and used it to battle in their divorce, I felt I had to keep half of my spiritual path clandestine.

It was the part that taught me to develop my intuition and analyze my dreams, to do ritual, to keep an altar or “sanctum” and to study metaphysics and mysticism.

It took me a long time to bridge that split and feel like I could be more bold about that part. We all have those splits between what is true for us, and what seems acceptable in the world. Bridging those splits allows us to be more truthful, more authentic and yes, more vulnerable, but perhaps more fulfilled as well.

What is that part for you?

I try to keep my sexuality work practical and real-world, AND I also know how intrinsically related it is to our spirituality.

Ritual is a way to bring intention to something.

And sexual ritual as a way of honoring sexuality is a completely different way and to actually CREATE beauty and magic. I love to do that with others. I know the power of bringing our energy together to raise it up into something very rich and vibrant.

We create in the unseen as we create in the seen.

We use the unseen to create in the seen.

We pull from the unformed creative world around us and bring it into form in our physical, human lives.

This is the true magic.
Our sexuality is a vehicle

for Form

for Bliss

for Beauty

for Rage

for Ecstasy

for Deep Knowing

for our Physical Bodies

for Connection

for Transcendence

for Truth.

This morning I will lead a group of international seekers who believe their sexuality is a source of magic, form and brilliance in a very special New Year’s Ritual.

There is no better way to start your year than anchored in the power of your source energy, your creative force, your sexuality.
I hope you will join us and add your power to the collective strength we will conjure.

These are the moments we live for.

This is the vibrancy and creativity we seek.

With truth, power & vulnerability,

Living the Sexually Empowered Life

People are often confused by what I do when I tell them I am a Sexual Empowerment Coach and Sexuality Educator. The other day someone said, “Oh, so you do prevention?” I smiled and explained that prevention might be one small piece of a holistic approach to sexuality,...

The Sexual Agency of Miley Cyrus

Bad pop doesn’t interest me. Dumb performances on MTV that are another cookie cutter-ed shape made of the same old “it’s your job to be pretty and sexy” mold bore me. When Sinead O’Connor got involved in the controversy over Miley Cyrus this week, it piqued my...
